Organic Shea Butter
Shea butter comes from the natural fat obtained from the Karite tree grown in West Africa. The name of this tree—Karite means “Tree of Life”—evinces the unique and healing properties of shea. Shea is widely recognized as a superb moisturizer with exceptional benefits for the skin. Our shea is expeller-pressed and USDA-certified organic.

Shea butter functions as an emollient in lotions, balms, soaps, and conditioners. When working with shea butter, make sure that you add as little heat as possible. If using other oils in addition to shea butter, it is best to heat the oils first, then remove them from heat, and add the shea butter in small pieces to the heated oils. Finally, mixtures should be whipped by hand, and the shea butter should be cooled as quickly as possible, to help deter crystallization. Shea butter should be stored in a cool, dry place.
